Community Growth Grants
The Chamber Opens Application for $25,000 Wells Fargo Neighborhood Growth Grants in Manhattan Valley
Friends—
The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the Wells Fargo Neighborhood Growth Grants — $25,000 non-repayable cash grants for established brick-and-mortar small businesses in Manhattan Valley.
Sixteen businesses will receive a grant. There is no cost to apply, and nothing to pay back.
Applications close Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET.
What the money is for
The funding is flexible — put it where your storefront needs it most:
Upgrade infrastructure — commercial kitchen equipment, specialized machinery, or advanced point-of-sale software
Transform your space — renovate your storefront, expand your footprint, or optimize your layout for higher volume
Strengthen operations — local marketing campaigns, bulk inventory, or hiring and training neighborhood staff
Do I qualify?
To be eligible, your business must:
Have at least two years of continuous operating experience and revenue, verified through tax filings
Be a for-profit business with all required licenses and permits
Maintain a physical storefront in Manhattan Valley — Broadway, Columbus, or Amsterdam Avenues between 96th and 110th Streets
Report annual revenue between $75,000 and $2,500,000 in your most recent tax year
Be in good standing with the New York State Department of State
Have a valid business bank account and a valid state ID
How it works
Apply — submit the short application. Free to apply.
Verify — the Chamber confirms eligibility and conducts site visits.
Random draw — sixteen recipients are selected at random.
Notified — grantees hear from the Chamber in September 2026.
This is not a merit-based competition. To keep the process fair, grants are awarded to eligible businesses at random. Every eligible applicant is welcome to apply. Selections may include a designated number of awards for existing Wells Fargo clients, but you do not need to be a Wells Fargo customer to apply or to receive a grant.
Know a business that should apply?
Forward this email. The strength of Manhattan Valley's commercial corridors depends on the businesses that have held down those blocks for years — and this is real capital, with no strings attached, going directly to them.
