No Trash, Curbside Composting or Recycling Collection on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 16, 2023
The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, there will be no trash, composting or recycling collection on Monday, January 16, 2023.
- Residents who normally receive Monday trash, composting, or recycling collection may place their material at the curb between 4 p.m. and midnight Monday evening for collection starting Tuesday, January 17. Residents should anticipate collection delays, as is common during a holiday week. We appreciate patience as we work to collect the backlog of material.

Now Hiring Emergency Snow Laborers 2022-2023 Season
The New York City Department of Sanitation has announced that registration is now open for those interested in working as Emergency Snow Laborers for the 2022-2023 winter season. Emergency Snow Laborers are per-diem workers who remove snow and ice from bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants and step streets after heavy snowfalls. Snow Laborers earn $17 per hour to start, and $25.50 per hour after 40 hours are worked in a week.

Join us for an adult student recital ("Sharing Hour") on Thursday, January 26th at 7pm followed by a reception.
A chance for adult students, staff, and faculty to mingle and get to know more of the Bloomingdale community, this event is also free and open to the public. All are welcome. Adults potentially interested in taking lessons or group classes are encouraged to attend and learn more about our class offerings.

This program will take place at the Bloomingdale Library. This is an informal playgroup for the little ones and their parents and/or caregivers to meet other families. Toys will be brought out for babies and toddlers to play with. This is a drop-in program.
NYPL After School Tutoring. Tutoring only in session school is in session | Free!
Mondays - Thursdays, 3-6 PM
NYPL After School is a free drop-in program for kids aged 6–12 that takes place after regular school hours on Mondays through Thursdays. Join us homework help from one of our tutors or Teen Reading Ambassadors, reading recommendations, fun writing, STEAM, and enrichment activities—and even snacks! No need to register—just show up! Everything is free.
One-on-One Tech Help
Wednesdays, 1-2 PM
This event will take place in person at Bloomingdale Library. If you have a tech problem, question, or would just like some individualized tech tutorials, this is your time to work with a librarian and receive their personal attention and instruction.

Green Tree Textiles will collect unwanted clothes, shoes, bags, towels and household linens for reuse and recycling. No rugs or blankets please.

CCC CLOTHING CLOSET
Sundays | 10AM-2PM | Town Building
The Clothing Closet distributes emergency clothing through the Nutrition, Health, and Clothing Center, and also provides workplace-appropriate clothing for individuals returning to the workforce. Persons seeking professional clothing must have a referral from an agency familiar with their employment search. Clothing distribution is free of charge and based on availability, and clients can obtain clothing once per month. Identification is required.
The Clothing Closet accepts donations of gently-used, freshly-laundered clothing. Donations can be dropped off at the Cathedral from Monday-Friday, 9AM-4PM
CCC SUNDAY SOUP KITCHEN
Sundays | 10AM-2PM | Town Building
With no eligibility restrictions, meal services are offered to all without regard to age, gender, race, income, or denominational affiliation. Sunday Soup Kitchen meals consist of a healthy, diverse menu that includes fresh produce, a wide variety of meat/proteins, and low-salt, heart-healthy food options.
