An Emphasis on sound and dialogue gets our students to communicate more quickly than they ever thought possible. If you want to Find out about online and in person classes. More Info Friends of Morning Side Park VOLUNTEER WITH FRIENDS Help beautify the Park every Second Saturday of the month, March – November. Volunteers collect trash, weeds, plant, paint, mulch, and rake. Supplies, gloves, and safety guidelines are provided. More Info

Environmental Bring Your Own Container In the coming weeks, look for the Bring Your Own Container/UWS Reduces Waste stickers at neighborhood businesses and go in with confidence that the store will accept your reusable container to fill and you won’t be bombarded with single-use plastic that you don’t need or want. BYO Container/UWS Reduces Waste is a new project of  It’s Easy Being Green, your neighborhood climate education and personal action group. We will ask our neighborhood coffee, tea shops and restaurants to display our BYO Container sticker in their window to let you know that they will accept your travel mug and/or food container to fill. We hope to include prepared food stores in the future when the NYS health codes are updated. (We’re working on this too!) Join our effort!  Please help us find conscientious businesses who would like to put the BYO sticker in their storefronts.  Send your ideas and  recommendations to BYO.itseasybeinggreen@gmail.com. Anibal Avilez Playground 111 W 108th St  Marc Ali Edmonds- Soul Artist- An Exhibition of 28 Works from 1974 to 1994. On View through June 15th | 111 W 108th St. ALI became a respected subway artist well before the advent of “wildstyle” graffiti art. His works often contained a humorous political message, a trend which led to his establishing and publishing the comic-oriented “Zoo York Magazine” in the early 1980s. The premier issue was first published in May 1979. In 1981, Edmonds recorded an international hit, ”Shoot the Pump”, with his group "Johnny Walter Negro and the loose Joints “. More Info

In particular we are in need of staff that have some Spanish language ability and live near our markets in the Bronx and Northern Manhattan. Learn about the history of the different buildings on the Cathedral Close, and safely join other enthusiasts for an outdoor tour of the Cathedral's 11-acre campus. More Info Textile Treasures: Spotlight on the Textile Conservation Lab Friday, June 16th | 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM This unique guided tour includes a "behind-the-scenes" visit to the Cathedral's world-renowned Textile Conservation Lab, which conserves tapestries, needlepoint, upholstery, costumes, and other textiles. Particular focus will be the Barberini collection of the Life of Christ tapestries and the Acts of the Apostles tapestries, based on cartoons by Raphael. Must be 12 years of age or older. Tickets are $25 per person, $20 per student/senior. More Info CCC CLOTHING CLOSET  Sundays | 10AM-2PM | Town Building The Clothing Closet distributes emergency clothing through the Nutrition, Health, and Clothing Center, and also provides workplace-appropriate clothing for individuals returning to the workforce. Persons seeking professional clothing must have a referral from an agency familiar with their employment search. Clothing distribution is free of charge and based on availability, and clients can obtain clothing once per month. Identification is required. The Clothing Closet accepts donations of gently-used, freshly-laundered clothing. Donations can be dropped off at the Cathedral from Monday-Friday, 9AM-4PM CCC SUNDAY SOUP KITCHEN  Sundays | 10AM-2PM | Town Building With no eligibility restrictions, meal services are offered to all without regard to age, gender, race, income, or denominational affiliation.
